Ok. This is why softnyx as a whole was down.
A group effort attack on softnyx was done.
This is the most illegal thing you can do on the internet and it's fairly easy to get caught.
What is a DDoS attack?
Distributed Denial of Service.
What is it?
It's when several computers (We are talking about a lot) rapidly spam "handshakes" or connections to a server, causing it to lag and crash under heavy load.
An example of this is a tunnel.
Imagine six hundred cars trying to fit in a tunnel that is only four lanes wide, at the same time, and going both ways.
The tunnel is jammed until someone can clean the cars out of the way.
The proper term for this, as per CISCO networking, is a "Three way handshake".
This is how it happens in three steps.
1: Your computer offers a "hand" (Attempts to connect)
2: The server you are connecting to notices you are attempting and lets out a "hand" (Accepts connection)
3: Shake. (Connection fully established, data exchanged.)
This is actually a criminal offense on a high level and you can be sued for damages. It's going to hurt you real bad if you do it to Koreans, because they are charged internet service based on bandwidth.
So if the attack surged bandwidth from Softnyx out the window, you're going to be sued for the cost of the bill and more.
